Australia RCM Certification

At present in Australia and New Zealand is introducing RCM signs, in order to achieve the unity of electrical products, logo, the sign is Australia and New Zealand regulatory agencies have a trademark that product at the same time comply with safety regulations and EMC requirements, non-mandatory.

1. Safety (product safety certification):
Product Safety Certification consists of two parts: the control of electrical products are divided into categories Electric (Prescribed Product) and the non-controlled products (Non-prescribed product). LfY Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility Network

1). Control of categories of electrical products under the AS/NZS4417.2 division, including heating equipment, refrigeration equipment, electric tools, parts. One 3 certification units Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria states most active in the accreditation process. Control class electric force must be obtained from the monitoring department issued a certificate (Certificate of Approval), and provides identification (must be marked with the certificate number) . The first letter of the certificate numbers show the certificate issued by what state or region. Such as: (1) Q04051 (Queensland Queensland) --- Q Number
(2) W2015 (Western Australia Western Australia) --- W Number
(3) V03101 (Victoria Victoria) --- ESV Certificate V Number
(4) NSW18099 (New South Wales New South Wales) --- DOFT Certificate NSW Number

2). Non-controlled Class certification is not required the direct sale of electrical appliances, but manufacturers need to ensure the safety of electrical products comply with Australian Standard AS/NZS3820: 1998 (Essential Safety Requirements for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment); monitoring departments will meet the requirements of the standard product line of award Certificate (Certificate of Suitability). to obtain the certificate of conformity of electrical products can be marked with the certificate number, certificate of the last letter showed that the certificate issued by a state or territory to which, such as:
(1) CS/431/Q (Queensland)
(2) CS/108/NSW (New South Wales)

2 EMC (electromagnetic compatibility)
Electromagnetic compatibility in line with Australia's scheme is based on 1992 Radio Communications Act (Radio Communications ACT 1992) formulated, covering a wide range of products, including motor drive and electrical heating products, electric tools and similar products, lighting and similar equipment, television receivers and audio equipment, information technology products, industrial scientific and medical equipment, fire engines, and welding equipment. The plan based on product risk of electromagnetic interference, the product is divided into three categories, the second and third types of products must be accompanied by C-Tick mark. But no matter which type of product belongs to, must comply with the relevant EMC standards.
A class of products: the use of radio spectrum is only slightly affected device products, such as the manual switch, a simple relay, brushless squirrel cage induction motor, AC power supply / power transformer, resistors and so on. In the production of such products are sold on a voluntary basis apply to use C-Tick mark.
Second-class products: the use of radio spectrum devices have a greater impact of products, such as microprocessors or digital clock connected devices, rectifiers, or slip-ring motors, arc welding equipment, switching power supply, light intensity regulator and motor speed control, information technology (CISPR 22) categories of telecommunications terminal equipment (since November 7, 2003 starting from the third category to the second category).
Three categories of products: the use of radio spectrum devices have serious implications for products, such as industrial, scientific and medical instruments and equipment used in group 2 (CISPR11).

RCM applications for matters related to
(1) if the products are CB and national differences, you can transfer directly to the Safety Certificate. Some can be combined with EMC to help out so that the agent declared. The product can be sold to Australia, and marked with RCM Mark.
(2) Safety Certificate: Some applications for safety, if the product is direct plug in, Ze Xu of the product to do for the AU Plug Test (Test Standard: AS / NZS 3112: 2004), if the product is Desktop, you do not need to do this test .
(3) EMC Report --- that can be a C-Tick Report (Test Standard: AS / NZS CISPR 22: 2002),
